Kinlochewe Village Postcard
Winner of the Baillie Gifford Award for Enterprise
In 2011 we made a collage and postcard of Kinlochewe Village. We took photographs of significant buildings in our village and then used them to make individual collage images. The collage “buildings” were then assembled together randomly on a 3mx2m piece of paper. See our Village Postcard Photograph Set.
The finished collage was photographed and submitted online for printing. Our local businesses and SNH have helped us to sell the finished postcards around our village, specifically to visiting tourists, and we owe them a big thank you.
We also used the postcards to make some small posters which we put up around the village annotated for our French visitors.
The large, original collage has now been framed and hangs in Kinlochewe Village Hall as a decorative piece of Art.
In 2012 we entered our postcard for the Baillie Gifford sponsored Schools Enterprise Competition (see our application) and in June 2012 won the £250 first prize in the under 70 pupil category.
